Dr Marion Kuper-Hommel

Dr Marion Kuper-Hommel’s compassionate approach to patient care, combined with her desire to provide state-of-the-art cancer treatment, enables her to establish trusted relationships with patients and clinicians, centred on clear communication and the design to obtain the best possible outcomes. Trained in The Netherlands, Dr Kuper-Hommel is an experienced medical oncologist with specific expertise in breast cancer, gynae, colorectal cancer and lymphoma.

Marion has a number of other significant roles including;

  • Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Auckland.
  • Member of the Scientific Advisory Committee of the Breast Cancer Trust Group, New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation, and the Waikato Breast Cancer Research Trust.
  • The Chairperson of the New Zealand Advanced Breast Cancer Guidelines committee.
  • Current Chairperson of the New Zealand Breast Special Interest Group.
  • Principal investigator of multiple breast cancer medical trials and (co)author of a number of scientific and peer-reviewed papers in leading medical journals.

In her free time Marion enjoys walks with her beautiful dog Luna and hikes in New Zealand’s beautiful back yard. Marion especially likes to hike the Great Walks of New Zealand and completes at least one a year. On her walks Marion takes amazing photos of the scenery, of which you will find a few in our practice.
